Tebow Talks!

I am reading Tim Tebow's memoir called Through My Eyes right now. Can't say that I am totally enthralled (it reads like a very young author wrote it, who has not experienced a full life yet), but it is a decent read. It gives a lot of insight on some of his upbringing, the philosophy behind the Tebow family and how he turned out to be such an outstanding young man and athlete. It starts out describing the difficulties that his mom endured during her pregnancy with him and during his delivery. He really is a miracle on legs! I am compelled to read the book as a mother, who has raised one son and who has two more sons to go. I would love for my younger sons to emulate their older brother (who does remind me a lot of Tim) and Tim! I can relate to the fact that Tim was home schooled, being that I home schooled my three older children for seven years, and I LOVED it. Reading his story just gives me positive feedback on the choice that I made to do it with my own kids. He also goes into his fitness regiment, which started at a VERY young age. He is really an anomaly, having started working out at such a young age without it stunting his growth! He began doing rudimentary strength training at literally five years old! He as also been athletic all of his life, and surprisingly played baseball almost daily as a child. All in all, I would recommend his book to any young athlete and also to parents of athletes who want to encourage their child to be competitive while also staying grounded in humility and faith in God. I was already a big Tebow fan (love how he wears his ministry on his face: "John 3:16"), and reading his book has made me want his jersey even more! :)

Hello all! It's been a while, but I'm back to my sports thing. It's actually not THE most fun time to be writing about sports right now, with all of the lock outs and uncertainty in the NFL and NBA, but it makes some other sports topics really juicy. For instance, former street fighter and MMA dud Kimbo Slice is a boxer now! He has his first fight on August 13th, and I'd like to definitely tune into it. I have to admit that it's not a surprise that he has gone the route of pro boxing as opposed to MMA. What was he thinking trying MMA ANYWAY? Bad idea, BAAAD idea. Kimbo did nothing but embarrass himself during most of his short career as a mixed martial artist. His wins were a fluke and his loses were horrendous! But, looking on the bright side, I expect him to do a bit better with boxing, being that street fighting is a lot closer to boxing than MMA. I know that he's a family man and has to put food on the table so I am also glad that he got a chance to make some more money fighting. My one concern? I think he may be too old! He's got to be pushing 40 at this point. I mean, 40 is not old in the global sense of the age, but it's sort of old to start a whole new boxing career and expect to have it last for a while. Okay...I have two concerns, Kimbo fights flatfooted! He's not "quick" and I can see him getting knocked out pretty fast if he doesn't get to his opponent first. Nevertheless, maybe this new addition of Kimbo to the boxing world will lend some rejuvenation into this seemingly dying sport. Good luck Kimbo!

O My My MY!

There have been some VERY interesting happenings in sports this past week! So, I decided to just give a few comments on them all instead of focusing on one each.

First, Farve! This man has won me over. I used to roll my eyes and hope that someone would go to his first "post-retire" game with a tranquilizer gun and put him out before his first pass. BUT, I have to admit, he is one crusty, stubborn old fart! Will he retire? AGAIN? Well, his answer was basically NO! He says, he will play if he is "healthy," which of course he will be...he'll make SURE to be! Anyway, I give up, go Farve!

Then....Oh boy! Tyson Gay beat Usain "big head"Bolt! And even though both of their times were nowhere near Bolt's record time he ran in the 2008 Olympics, it STILL gives Gay bragging rights. He didn't just beat him in this last race in Stockholm, he smoked him! I'm glad I can say that Gay beat Bolt, even if it was a result of Bolt being out of shape and coming from an Achilles injury. A win is a win! Congrats Gay!

Next, WOWZER! Did I just see that? Did I just watch Chael Sonnen practically murder Anderson Silva for four rounds, and even most of the fifth and STILL lose the fight? What, does Silva have some type of Brazilian leprechaun bringing him luck? To be honest, I had a feeling that Anderson might lose this fight because Sonnen was so darn confident he'd win! Ever heard that saying "mind over matter?" Well it turns out, Sonnen not only had the mind, he had the matter! He got Silva where he hurt: wrestling. So, wrestling is Anderson Silva's cryptonite! I'm surprised that in all his 12 straight wins, no one has faced him that could wrestle. He hasn't lost since 2006, so that was a HUGE oversight. Sonnen was pretty smart to recognize that Silva, who has been hailed as the best MMA fighter pound for pound, had a huge weakness. So, I'm tickled pink that Silva did win by submission over Sonnen in the end, but kudos for Sonnen for giving him a HARD won fight! I smell a rematch!

And last...take a look at the photo above....this is why I love Tim Tebow.....he is humble enough to withstand some rookie hazing (take notes Dez Bryant). He looks so cute! LOL

Shaqzilla!!

Ack! Someone call the army! It's a big Shaq attack! Shaq is on a NBA rampage. He has decided to pillage through as many teams as he possibly can before he becomes a myth like his brother, Sasquatch. He goes through teams like he goes thru his make ups and break ups with Shawnie. Okay, so we have to watch his big fat azz run up and down the court with the Boston Celtics for ONE mo year. One more year of Shaq looking cross-eyed into the camera as he is interviewed answering questions about Kobe, and "getting that fifth ring." LOL, okay, let me stop, I really do like Shaq. And what I like about him, is that he would read what I am saying about him and craaack up! He has a great sense of humor and personality. I always wish him well, I just wish he would stop being a team hoe! And I wish he would stop going to teams that HATE the Lakers! What is his problem with them?? I know, KOBE, even tho they are supposedly on good terms now. They are like the Paris and Nicole of the NBA, the "frenemies." Okay Shaq, I love you man, but I can't wish you well if you play for Boston...sorry. Man, this NBA season is gonna be like watching a soap opera! :D

I was WRONG!!

All right, all right, I admit it...I WAS WRONG! I was wrong about LeBron "Chump" James. Just Kidding! James may be a coward, but he's probably no chump. He just may finally get his first championship ring with the Miami Heat. I mean, if he can't do it there, he just can't do it ANYWHERE. Granted, it's in his right to want to win THAT bad, but he just totally trashed his legacy with this decision to go to Miami and blend in with two other super stars: Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. Even if he does win a ring, it will be bittersweet. No one will be calling him a legend 20 years after he retires. He'll just be "one of those good guys who played some good ball in his career." Despite the idea that what he has just done is tantamount to cheating, in my view, LeBron is a classic "mommas boy" and it's all too clear after this "leaving Cleveland for Miami" fiasco. Seriously, who tells the WHOLE world "I talked it over with my momma, and she said it was a good idea to go to Miami..." This kid just can't stop castrating and embarrassing himself, it seems. So...Miami has a super team and now a full roster. The pressure is on them. Let the games begin! It looks like the Eastern Conference is basically in the bag at this point, but time will tell. I have to say, I wonder what LeBron's strategy will be if he doesn't win right away in Miami? I can see them winning maybe one or two, but he won't get five or more there in the time he has left in his career....And now he is trying to make nicey nice with his hometown Akron, Ohio. On a positive note, maybe he will finally do the RIGHT thing and marry his two-time baby momma! Go Lakers!! :D

Peek-A-Boo LeBron!

Honestly, I really don't know what all the talk has really been about. All throughout the playoffs, and the NBA Finals: "Where's LeBron gonna play next year!" while Lebron has been mum on the topic, even though it's all about him! Well, he comes out of hiding for a little while and gives a cameo appearance and a tidbit about his decision, but I think he's mainly just messing with our heads....LeBron's not going anywhere. That's right, I said it. Ohio is home sweet home for Lebron, and home is where the heart is....and the millions! LOL Another team would have to offer him the biggity big big bucks for him to leave is throne with the Cavs. He may not ever win a ring with the Cavs, but he will have still proven himself to be the most powerful player on a NBA team EVER! He didn't get his ring this year, and heads rolled in Cleveland! And no doubt, he will pick the new coach as well as the new GM. Yep, LeBron is the Oprah of the NBA, and he'd better watch his back because that's just too much power for a young black man to have. LOL, just kidding. I actually love it, I love that he commands and dictates what goes on in his kingdom with the Cavs because he works his butt off! And he has fun with the game most of the time and doesn't take himself too seriously. Anyway, I still look forward to that LeBron vs Kobe, Lakers vs. the Cavs matchup! Maybe next year? ;D

Lakers Baby!!!

Oh yeah! We did it AGAIN! My boys made it successfully through what had to be one of the most nail biting, hair pulling, and nerve wracking NBA finals series in a LONG time. Lakers vs. Boston....WOWZER! I somehow knew we would win the finals, but there were times when I didn't know how. Obama predicted that the Lakers would win even before the series began, and yes, there were times when I even questioned the prez. I was so psycho during while watching game 7, that I had to leave the house and stop watching it! I actually told my Laker fan buddy Afi not to text me until the game was over, and I commenced to engross myself in reading a nice book. LOL. But no one can question that the Lakers are THE best team in the league. We have an answer to them all. Artest came out a hero and I am so proud of and happy for him. Pau "the Spaniard" Gasol also came through and did his thing, can't say that i was surprised either. And Fisher had the faith of a HUGE mustard seed (along with a hairy face) and that paid off, as well. I don't need to say anything about my man Black Mamba. That's right, Kobe would have been the best contender for MVP even if the Lakers didn't win the series in the end. He was the hero, as usual (and I won't even mention "Back 2 back, without Shaq") hehe. Anyway, the series is over, so I relax and reminisce by checking out some of the wacky pictures that were captured like those above. GO LAKERS!! :)

Okay...I wonder what is REALLY going on with the Lakers? I have a two part theory. The first theory is that being that they know they are already the Division champs, they are just saving themselves for the playoffs. Why play hard, risk injury, exhaust themselves if they are already going to the playoffs and don't have to grapple to get there? Save it for the REAL business, where winning games really counts at this point. But my OTHER theory is that the other guys are rebelling since Kobe came back...like maybe they enjoyed playing and winning win he was on the sidelines hurt. Maybe they resent him coming back after all, so they refuse to perform. Is that possible? Can grown men be THAT petty, juvenile, and silly? YES! it's possible they just don't want to give Kobe any more fuel to his fire. Perhaps they think that he gets too much of the credit, and they have the balls to protest (unlike the flunkies playing under LeBron James. LOL. I don't know...I thought with the addition of Ron Artest it was gonna be a great year. And granted, it did start out that way. But what's has gotten into our fellas lately? Is it apathy, strategic planning, or stubbornness. I truly don't believe that they are simply being outplayed. Well, at any rate, the playoffs basically start this weekend. Let's hope we see the Champs play like they should be playing!! Go Lakers!!

Wow...how many women will Ben Roethlisburger have to sexually assault before someone gets him some help...? Okay, to be fair, he "allegedly" assaulted two women: one last year and one just last week...but it's starting to look like at least ONE of these ladies are telling the truth. Is it me, or does Ben appear to be spiraling out of control? He is the "white wild child" of the NFL. He provides some relief to the black players stigma of being the usual trouble makers. What's his problem? I know he's still in his 20s, but his on the downside of being able to get away with utter foolish behavior, he's almost 30!! And is it ALSO just me, but has anyone else noticed that he looks like a dripping hot mess??! Sweaty, sloppy, smelly...ewww! He has a 100 million dollar contract, can't he afford to take a shower, shave, and cut his hair?? Anyway, let me not bash him, I just think he is setting a poor example and needs to show some responsibility. Wow....I wish we could go back to the days when athletes were heroes....*sigh*

Remember that song?? I think mid 80s?? lol Okay...I'm starting to get in the MOOD! The mood for hoops! Watching the Lakers pull off that unexpected win over the Denver "Thuggets," I mean Nuggets has gotten me fired up. It was a heroic feat for my fellas. Denver had already beaten them twice before, and the Lakers seemed like they were gonna give them a 3-0 advantage over them! But not to be. Something told me that the Lakers were gonna come out from the locker room after half time a different team than what they were going in. And I was right! I actually had to go run an errand and missed the last part of the game, but when my good friend and fellow Laker fiend Afi called me, I knew it was a done deal. So yeah...even though I normally don't get emotionally involved until the playoffs, I'm good to watch some B-Ball, while in between watching some NFL Combine. BODIES ON PARADE! LOL ;)

LT Has Left the Building....

Well, I always said I didn't want his career to end up like this, but Ladanian Tomlinson was released yesterday from the San Diego Chargers....very sad indeed. I mean, I saw it coming...so did he, but I was hoping he would just retire before he had to suffer the embarrassment and pain of being ASKED to leave, ya know? To be honest, LT is an old running back, most of them don't last as long as he has. And he has had a few marginal and just flat out bad years lately. He's been injured a lot, a sure sign that his body is feeling a little battered. Okay, a LOT battered. Poor thing. Actually, I really didn't understand why he was trying to hang in there so long, he's a sure shoe in for the Hall of Fame already. I was hoping that this would finally convince him he should retire. Then I realized...LT has no super bowl ring!! And I have to admit, he just can't go out like that! It's the same reason T.O. keeps playing musical teams instead of just retiring to celebutante heaven. He wants a ring too! I guess, they both feel like even if you have to reel them in sitting in wheelchairs, and they are sharing a locker with their grandsons, they just gotta get their ring! We know how T.O. has managed since he's pimped himself out to any team who shows interest, but where will LT go from here? He's clearly not done yet...so the question is, where can he go where he won't feel like a second fiddle? Or like it's a mercy sign on? He definitely won't be the starter, so is the number two RB title gonna work for LT? Only time will tell, and we'll see who bites. Godspeed LT!

Oh Manning!

What a game! What a season! I called it, and it was amazing that it came true. The two teams who deserved to be in the superbowl the most actually ended up facing each other. What a perfect culmination to a season where they topped all the other teams in wins and in the case of the New Orleans Saints, even in points! The Colts and the Saints match up will be legendary in superbowl history, no doubt. It was a perfectly played game by both teams, yet, of course, everyone knows that the Saints won, bless their hearts. I must admit, I was certainly rooting for them. How can there be a professional NFL team in existence that has NEVER gone to OR won a superbowl game?? Just seems hard to fathom. It's wonderful to see Drew Brees finally getting the recognition as a quarterback that he is deserved; maybe he might even garner the salary he deserves too now (talk is, he's the 17th highest paid quarterback in the league). I'm sure he gets SO tired of all the Peyton Manning mania. And speaking of which, Peyton reportedly didn't even go over and congratulate Brees! No handshake from Pey Pey...booooo what a disgrace! He should at least be happy for Brees, he knows how it feels to finally win a superbowl title after years of hard work. Goodness, he just won his first a couple of years ago. And I'll just go on out and say it...Pey Pey blew the game, LOL. Some folks are trying to lay the blame on Hank Baskett for letting the ball bounce off of him during the Saints on side kick...but nah. At that point, the Colts were still winning and they even scored again very soon after the third quarter began. It was that interception Peyton threw in the fourth quarter. Sorry!! Anyway, what a great game, I'm still reeling about it. Congratz to the Saints on a season and job well done! :D

When Will They Just Let Kobe be??!!

For the love of Pete! When will they STOP comparing Kobe to every basketball player that EVER loved?? Seriously...if so many people are interested in discrediting him, why is he always the marker for greatness?? Is so and so better than...Kobe?...and is so and so is better than Kobe? Geez Louize! Just let the man play ball! The new comparison o'day is Magic Johnson. Some manboy journalist, because journalists have nothing better to do than make man lists and create pissing contests, started the discussion on "who is the ultimate, all time BEST Laker." This on the cusp of Kobe breaking Jerry West's most points scored for the Laker organization. Geesh, couldn't even let the man relish in a huge accomplishment without trying to put him in his imaginary place. It's pathetic. So, the "boyz" have been discussing it, and what a surprise! Most say Magic Johnson is the ultimate bestest Laker player EVER..not Kobe. Now I'm a huge Magic fan, the man personifies basketball, but are they serious? If God wills, Kobe has at least five more years on the court. Five more years to break WAY more records that magic was ever in the running for. So let's just be real guys. These guys, HA! They had to literally event new criteria for what makes a player great in order to edge Kobe out of the spotlight. "Well, well...magic has..nobbier knees than Kobe..he's paid his dues, THAT'S why he's the bestest Laker player EVER." Get out of here with that garbage. poor Kobe. People complain about him being arrogant, but he basically has to be in order to front off all the madness being thrust at him out there in the media. *sigh* Boyz will be boyzzz! :D

I called it...yep, I called way back when in the beginning of the NFL season that the two (then) undefeated teams would and SHOULD meet each other in the Superbowl. And guess what happened? The Saints and the Colts are those two teams!!! WOOOOO! Well, I'm not surprised, they truly were the best two teams this year. It's also interesting that it came down to the best three teams being in the running: Saints, Vikings, and Colts. Not sure how the New York Jets slithered their way into playing for the Superbowl shot....*pregnant pause to ponder*....yeah, just glad that Peyton Manning and the Colts put that young whipper snapper Mark Sanchez in his place. I mean, don't get me wrong. he had a GREAT season and as a fellow Trojan I am proud of him, but we really don't need no rookie quarterbacks going to the Superbowl! Who would be able to tell him anything after that if he did? Dude is already from Southern Cal, big head city, he doesn't need to add an historical accomplishment to his resume! But anyway, I am happy for both Superbowl bound teams, and I think it's the perfect match-up. I just hope that the Saints shake off their "first time going to the Superbowl" high well before the game on February 7. Sometimes, performing well on one special occasion can be a deterrent for continuing the trend. not sure who I am rooting for yet, but I just hope it's a good game! :D

Coaching Conundrum!

Whew! Seems like coaches in the NFL and the NCAA are being passed around like two dollar hoes nowadays! LOL, "pimping ain't easy, and that is nowhere more true right now than in the sports world. Players are pimping, coaches are pimping, EVERYBODY is chasing that dragon, that almighty dollar and the word "loyalty" has nothing to do with sports any more. In fact, today, being athlete or a coach can be seen as one's "hustle." LOL. So in true hustler fashion, Pete Carroll decided to leave USC to go coach the Seattle Seahawks. I'm not mad at him! Dude's gonna make 7.5 million a year, and was given a 35 million dollar contract deal over five years. he paid his dues at USC. And the NCAA sanction probability notwithstanding, USC garnered a "sweet young thang" in the person of Lane Kiffin (the former NFL bad boy coach for the Oakland Raiders). Kiffin had just been hired as the coach for Tennessee a year ago, but decided to drop them like a hot potato in order to come back to sunny Cali. Now that's GANGSTA! This week started out with a lot of conjecture, confusion, and as a veritable conundrum...and methinks it's probably not over yet. There is a lot of Carroll/Kiffin hating out there among fans, and even among some people in the media. Crazy days, crazy times for sports when coaches nowadays don't seem to care that much about building a legacy...at least not when it comes at the expense of them getting "the job they always wanted" (*wink* at Lane). Hee hee!

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao is DONE!

Yes, the fight is off.....that's all I have to say about that.....Oh, and that I'm not surprised one bit...that's it.....And this, Wow! Talk about soap opera worthy drama. Ahem, was all the bickering, suing, and accusing necessary?Is this just an indication that boxing is truly dead? That it's been killed by the MMA monster? Please, don't doubt me, this is a HUGE blow to boxing as a sport. When a sport is already dying out, the last thing it needs to do is completely leave a bad taste in the mouths of the last few fans it has. So ummm, not gonna really take much seriously in the boxing world for a while. Besides, next thing you know, Pacquiao will be working on jiujitsu and muay thai and saying he wants to take on BJ Penn! Stay tuned, kids! LOL

Playoff Party!

Wow, this season seemed to fly by! Now it's time for the REAL excitement: the playoffs! I can say that there are a few surprises as well as disappointments at the end of the regular season. Some teams performed better in the later hour, and some performed worst! Like what in the WORLD happened to the New Orleans Saints? Egads! it seems they have imploded. Don't get me wrong, they are still in the playoffs, but they have now lost 3 games in a row. Thus, they aren't going into the playoffs with a bang, ya know? It seems they are a tad beat up from trying to keep that undefeated record. I do think they may have pushed themselves a little too hard in the regular season, and it's coming back to haunt them. On the other hand, who opened the gate and let the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs?? NOOOOO! I am still mad at them for letting my boy T.O. go, and I am no real fan of that "divo" Tony Romo. Hopefully they will do what they always do, what they have done since the mid 80s in the playoffs: LOSE their first game.....okay...maybe that is way harsh. I guess I shouldn't really hate the game, just the player, lol. I am actually looking forward to seeing what all the teams do in the playoffs. personally, I think the Vikings have the Superbowl rings this year (though I can't say I'd be happy about that either). At any rate, congrats to all of teams who played their butts off and made it in! Kudos and let the games REALLY begin!!

Drama, Drama, Drama!

Well, the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight has turned into a soap opera! I was really looking forward to seeing this fight about a month ago, now, I can honestly say that I can take it or leave it. And...I hate to admit it, but I think I smell fear coming out of the Mayweather camp. Mayweather turned me off when he agreed to do the fight, and then two days later he started demanding a blood test before the fight. Why?? I mean, I can't say that I haven't suspected that Pacquiao was taking something the past few years. But it's bad protocol to ask for a blood test before a boxing match!! When has THAT ever happened? Understandably, Pacquiao freaked out. Granted he might be on that stuff, but why would he agree to have blood taken before a fight? There's a big risk that losing blood would slow him down. But does that warrant him suing Mayweather?? Good lord! Mayweather has backed down from demanding the test since Nevada has ordered both fighters take urine tests, but I don't think he's happy about it. Check out this video of him verbally abusing his sparring partner!

Is it me, or do they just not make NFL ball players like they used to? It's not just me! It's true, and that was proven to me over this past weekend. I was fortunate enough to have a sit down talk with two former NFL players from "back in the day" and it was fantastic! I sat there enthralled listening to their stories and hearing how things were in the game of pro football in the late 70s and early 80s. Kenny Harrison was drafted to the San Francisco 49ers in 1976, and played the wide receiver position for them for two years. He has quintessential "wide receiver hands." They are huge, LOL. He went on to play for the Washington Redskins for one year in 1980. He played with Tony Dungy and even roomed with him on a road trip once. He is a very lean man at 6'1, so I asked him how he liked taking those hits, his reply was "They couldn't catch me." Tadow! I believe it. Kenny is still a very athletic man, working with high school students in track and field, and looks more fit than some men half his age. And the NFL blood runs in the family, whereas Kenny's brother, Dwight Harrison, also had a long NFL career. Cedrick Hardman also played for the 49ers from 1970-1979, and he and Kenny are good friends. Cedrick is 100% ALL man defensive end, even to this day! I'm telling you, he's the kind of end that would stare across the line at the other OE and smile while chewing a mouth full of nails. And his voice sounds like he's done that more than a few times! He still has his football player stature and physique and the word TOUGH doesn't describe this man! When asked if he had ever broken any bones, his reply was "I've broken a few on other players." OUCH! He went on to play for my Oakland Raiders from 1980-1981. He won Superbowl 15 with the Raiders and he let me hold his ring! Yes, I actually held a superbowl ring in my little hands.....I LOVE diamonds, even manly diamonds on a superbowl ring. In all, Cedrick played pro ball for 13 years, and he has the war scars to prove it. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting across from these two veterans discussing, what I believe is, the best era for NFL football EVER. In my view, the boys nowadays try to do their thing, but they just don't seem to have all of the heart and pure love for football that the "back in the day" guys did. When you hear these men reminisce, you hear the camaraderie that was so important. It wasn't just about who could get the highest contract amounts, who got the spotlight on the field, and all the razzle dazzle off of the field. Getting a superbowl ring was about "teamwork" and a collective accomplishment. That sentiment doesn't seem to be the focus with players today. Favre Be Da Boss!!!!

LOL, okay, what does it mean for pro football when a quarterback overrules a head coach?! Apparently that's what happened Sunday night during the Carolina Panthers and Minnesota Vikings game. The Vikings played HORRIBLY *snicker,* and apparently their coach tried to bench "Brett the purple dinosaur" (Barney's brother, hehe) in the third quarter. Well, Favre seemed to have had a massive BF and the benching thing didn't happen ya'll! Ultimately, the Vikings ended up losing the game with a deplorable score of 24-7. But, all in all, it's no real biggie that they lost, they are still 11-3 for the season so far and are definitely playoff bound. Heck, I'd say they are probably the STRONGEST team heading for the playoffs. That said, the coach, Brad Childress, was wrong, in my view. Why bench Favre just because in ONE game his offense was only able to garner 7 points? So the backup qb is gonna do better? Please, it's just one game! Sounds to me like the Childress and Favre have some "bad blood" between them. Well, if they didn't before, they certainly do NOW, haha. I'd also imagine that Favre pulling rank over the coach will not sit quite well with his fellow players....personally, even if he were right in theory, I still wouldn't like that dude. I say, 'twill be an interesting remainder of the season for the Vikings organization. Hmmmmmm....

NFL Hall of Fame...or Superbowl Ring?

Hmmmmm, I had a thought today, I wonder which is more of an accomplishment to a player: being inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame, even though they never received a Superbowl ring; or being a "good" player but not good enough for the HOF and leaving the game with a Superbowl ring? I am sure this is T.O.'s, Randy Moss,' and Ladanian Tomlinson's dilemma right now! They are all basically HOF players who are still in the game. They are all players who are aging and their bodies won't last too much. As a matter of fact, Ladanian's body will probably give out in the next year or so, whereas running backs like him don't usually have long NFL careers (too much wear and tear on the body). T.O. and Moss are wide receivers, but still, they are getting up there in age, they won't be able to go long and see a ball coming at them forever! I mean, even though T.O. is a workout demon, he will undoubtedly be getting really tired in the next couple of years, I mean the man is pushing 36 years old! I just KNOW that he wants to hang on to garner that ring! Poor thing...based on how he is being passed around and to whom, I really don't think he's gonna get out of the game with that coveted ring. Moss may have a small chance, because he plays for the New England Patriots and with one of the best qb in the game right now: Tom Brady. But T.O.? Not so much, he plays for the Buffalo Bills and NO ONE is impressed, haha. So, that makes me wonder, if any of these fellas end their careers without ever getting that ring, will their HOF status be bittersweet to them??....Makes you go "hmmmmmm." Personally, I think I'd want either that ring or to have BOTH. :D

It's getting down to the wire. The NFL playoffs are just weeks away. It's pretty much a clinched deal that the Saints have won the NFC division title and that the Colts have won the AFC division title. It also seems like a clincher that these two teams will match up in the Superbowl, but not so fast. The playoffs are an entirely different animal than the regular season. Yes, they are both undefeated, but an undefeated season doesn't always speak to a team's real ability. Some of those wins were what I call "squeakers:" meaning they just squeaked by and ended up with the win. Also, they don't always play the same teams in the regular season that they will end up playing in the playoffs, so regular season foes may not be a good representation of the playoff ones. See, that's the thing about the NFL playoffs (different than the NBA): it's "do or die." It doesn't matter what your regular season was like, you lose one game in the playoffs and it's adios. How frustrating would it be for a team to go undefeated in the regular season and get knocked off with their first playoff game? LOL And technically, once the playoffs start, a teams regular season record doesn't even matter any more. That's why I don't really enjoy the NFL playoffs like I do the NBA playoffs. (I usually don't even start watching NBA games UNTIL the playoffs start!). I'd rather just hold my breath until I see which two teams are going to the Superbowl. Anywho, I sure am happy for my boys the Saints, but, I have to admit that having an undefeated regular season can often set a team up to fail in the playoffs and I'm real nervous about their Superbowl prospects. Hmmmmmmm

Crazy Concussions!

Is it me or have there been a LOT of guys getting concussions this football season! I mean, that's pretty scary. The list includes: Brian Westbrook and DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles, Ben Roethlisburger from the Steelers, Kurt Warner From the Arizona Cardinals, and Jamal Lewis from the Cleveland Browns. Jamal Lewis' and Brian Westbrook's careers may even be over because of their concussions! This is ridiculous. I mean, either someone needs to regulate how the game is being played nowadays or they need to make sure these guys stay out of the game until they are really healed. Recently, Roethlisbuger sat out of a game, and was hastily criticized by his teammate Hines Ward. Hines made the most ignorant comment about "playing through injuries." Undoubtedly, Hines was just thinking about the fact that their team had just lost a game under the replacement quarterback Dennis Dixon. He has since apologized but, was he serious??? A concussion is NOT just a "football injury." It is NOT a little "ouchie." Frankly, I don't think Ben should even think about coming back, since he still claims to continue to have headaches. Well anyway, I'm glad that the NFL commission is seriously thinking about revamping their concussion policy. They have recently released this statement: "a player may not return to the field if he experiences any kind of confusion, amnesia, persistent headaches, dizziness or vertigo or any other signs of concussion." Very responsible! Football is no fun if folks are just dying to play it. :P

If You Can't Tame a Tiger....

Set him free?? I dunno, all kind of skankalicious wimin coming out of the woodwork claiming that Tiger "hit it." Not looking good for the Tiger! Is it possible that he does like to roam after all? But, I can't say I totally believe it. Yes, his "accident" seems suspect, and it does sound like he endured a "wife beating" before he ran out of the house to safety. Something about a wife that just gives her the ability to whoop her husbands azz if he deserves it. Tiger's wifey says she was trying to "rescue him," and I...sort of believe her. I think she may have confronted him about the National Enquirer article and they argued. But I don't think she really believes he cheated on her. Not sure who all of these other women are, and what their motive is (publicity of course!!), but I have faith in Tiger. As far as I'm concerned, he's innocent until proven guilty. Anyway, Tiger got cited, but they aren't gonna bring criminal charges against him...my question is, for what? What did he do wrong?? Alas, I don't this story is going away any time soon. Grrrrrrrr!

Just a Little Too Late???

It's amazing how some NFL teams have had "resurrections" at this point in the season, and how some have seemed to just wither away. Case in point, the Tennessee Titans and the Buffalo Bills. Since the Titans have put Vince back in the driver's seat, they have won 5 games in a row. Vince is performing well after warming the bench for the last part of last season and the first part of this one. Similarly, T.O. has seemed to have an awakening with the Buffalo Bills. He had a 98 yard touchdown just a couple of weekends ago, and has seemed to not even look back. His performance has looked like the old T.O. ever since. But why all the late heroics? It's a long shot that either team will make the playoffs. Why not just give up and ride the rest of the season out without risking injury by playing so hard? My theory is, it's "job security." These guys are probably already thinking of their work options for next year: they either want to maintain their positions or make sure they look good enough to get picked up next year. I think the former applies to Young, and the latter to T.O. He's a working Hall of Famer, but there's still life in the old boy yet!! On another note, what in the world happened to the New York Jets, the New England Patriots, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos?.....These guys have had the worst luck in the past few weeks, and their standings have suffered as a result. Not even sure if they will make the playoffs! We'll just have to see. Hmmmmmm

Quality Quarterbacks!

Wowzer! Quarterbacks seem to be the rockstars and celebutantes of the NFL this football season. They have just been FULL of razzle dazzle. We have at least three of them already in the talks for MVP: Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Brett Favre. Two of those in the running are leading undefeated teams (Brees and Manning) and one of them has only had to nurse one loss (Favre). We have a comeback kid in the mix, as in Vince Young, who came back in the game to lead the zero-win Tennessee Titans to five wins in a row! ANd then we have a new face for the Pittsburgh Steelers that I must say played a first NFL start impressive game. That new kid on the block is Dennis Dixon. A few busts in the mix like Mark Sanchez, Jamarcus Russell and Jay Cutler notwithstanding, hey, the quarterbacks got it going on this year. FABULOUS!!!

Really Raiders???!!!

Whoooo! Time to go get some Raider gear! Yep, diehard Raider fan here and guess what......my boys won this past weekend. And they did it against the Cincinnati Bengals!! Bengals have had a decent season, with Chad Ochocinco revving up his game a little bit, so it was quite an accomplishment. The Raiders finally benched lazy JaMarcus Russell from the QB position and put in Bruce Gradowski. Good move! Cincinnati is good, but it wasn't enough to get past what some people call one of the worst teams in the league. Worst team or not, I am STILL a Raiders girl thru and thru. I admit the Raiders don't often give me much to celebrate about, so I have to make a big deal out of it when they do. I think it's time to buy some gear! I got my Lakers jersey when the Lakers won the Champs last season, but I've been neglecting my Raiders. And it's a shame because there is a Raiders store in my local mall, of which I pass by ALL the time and have never even been inside! For shame, for shame. Well, even though they left LA and I am a 2nd generation Angelino, I will still show a little Raider pride and do a little shopping. It's a good excuse to go to the mall anyway, right? LOL

Pacquiao Power!!

Well, I went to watch the Pacquiao/Cotto fight at a friend of a friend's house. Despote being distracted by how absolutely gorgeous the house was, I had to be the ONLY person there rooting against Manny Pacquiao. Yeah...what was I thinking, right? Odd too, because I'm usually a huge fan of his. But for some reason, I felt more connected to Cotto. I think I just like rooting for the underdog, and I really don't like fighters who are undefeated for too long. Maybe it's the effects of the little bit of Buddhism I've studied..I like balance in life. But anyway, just when I thought that Cotto may have a chance, Manny came out and got his TKO. It was a systmeatic win, not what I'm used to seeing Pacquiao do. But the fight went to 12 rounds, even though it was eventually stopped in the 12th and deemed a TKO. Cotto hurt Pacquiao though, and got some really good hits in. I think if Cotto hadn't had to cut weight in order to garner the fight, he would have knocked Pacquiao out. Coming down in weight class in order to fight sometimes takes some of the power out of a fighter. So maybe Cotto was a little too weak to land punches that really hurt. Well, looks like that fight between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather might be on and cracking! Gratz Manny!!

I knew the Lakers were gonna lose to the Nuggets! I am psychic. However, the reason I expected it was because they were still recouping from their win over the Phoenix Suns. So, they Thuggets got one on us, but that will be ALL. Looking forward to the match-up between the Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. It won't be pretty! GO Lakers!

In other news, Allen Iverson is throwing a little BF over their on the Grizzlies. Seems Mr. Big Shot doesn't like playing from the bench. He is threatening to retire...or actually pull a Brett Favre over on the NBA side. Yes, he would not stay retired for long, and every school boy knows this. Hey, I'm just clowning him, but I feel his pain. Who wants to be on a horrible team and be relgated to playing off of the bench? I mean, this is a guy they based a fictional character on in a movie. He's a veritable legend in the NBA! That said, I'm not sure why he chose to go to a team saturated with guys who already play his position, yet thought he'd get to play anyway. Guess he thought wrong! Awww, keep your head up, Ivey!

Two Humble Men....

Troy Polamalu is to the NFL as Fedor Emelianenko is to MMA...they are both men of faith, highly successful at what they do, and the most humble athletes on the planet. I find it so inspirational to watch them do their collective sports. I love it because when they do their things, it is so oppositie to who they really are otherwise. On the field, Troy is a killer! He has no mercy when he's going after a receiver or a running back (or QB for that matter). He's not worrying about hurting his prey, he just wants them DOWN....LOL. Likewise, Fedor has hands of steel, he will knock you the hell out without blinking OR thinking twice. And he has done that fir 8 straight wins, knocked his opponent out. That's exactly what he did this past weekend to Brett Rogers!! And Troy made some crazy tackles and had an interception on Monday against the Denver Broncos. LOL, everything about Troy belies his true nature, right down to his wild Samsonite hair. But both of these guys are very spiritual and gentle guys. They always give God the credit fpr their success and would rather stay out of the media spotlight. I like that.....So, I hope they both continue to be paradigms that they are in their sport. We need more guys like them in athletics, and guys like them need to get more press than the bonehead athletes out ther!! ;)

Romo the Bozo

Romo is a silly clown. I can't believe I actually used to like this guy. Everyone thought that T.O. (the number 1 receiver for the Cowboys at the time) was just being a baby when he complained that Tony Romo wouldn't throw him the ball. Well guess what? Roy Williams, the NEW number 1 wide receiver is complaining that Romo the clown is doing the same thing to him! So, here's the million dollar question, is Romo the problem or the number 1 receivers? I'd say it's two to one that Romo is!! What's worse is, I really think that Romo was the main reaosn behind the Cowboys trading T.O. to the Buffalo Bills. Yeah....I think everyone owes my boy T.O. an apology.

Well it's down to the wire for the world series! I have to admit, I have not watched one game between the Phillies and the Yankees. It seems to be moving right along, with a sure win for the Yankees. If the Phillies win, it will be a repeat from last year. Yankees last World Series win was in 2000. And it seems like they are working C.C. Sabithia to death out there on the pitcher's mound. Every time I glance at a game, I see Mr. Carebear himself pitching the ball. He has to be the chubbiest baseball player I think I've ever seen! But it's kinda cute, LOL. A-Rod would also be excited if his Yankees won the series, it would the first time he's ever won one!

Season basketball still hasn't caught my attention. But, it's nice to know that the Lakers squeezed out a win in OT against Oklahoma City. My boy Kobe saved the day with a three-pointer to put the final score at 101 - 98. But it was a close one!

Right now, it's all about the NFL and the MMA for me. Saints and Colts are still beating their chest as the only two undefeated teams left. And Fedor Emelianenko matches up with Brett Rogers for the MMA fight of the year! I'm totally hooked on The Ultimate Fighter show, which is a reality show that highlights a group of guys who fight and compete against each other in order to win a UFC contract.

Wow...I can hardly believe all of the fall out from the Machida/Rua bout on UFC 104 this past weekend. I mean, I watched it, I saw it from start to finish, and never did I think that Machida was for sure gonna lose that fight. Granted, it was close, but I knew that Rua just didn't beat the champ. For one, the only aggressive moves that came from Rua were muay thai kicks and a couple of attempted take downs. Yes, those kicks hurt, anyone could see that based on the bruises on Machida's thigh's and the grimaces on his face afterwards. But hurting someone and winning a fight are two different things. Look, I am a novice at MMA and a chick as well, but even I could see that Rua was barely landing any attempted strikes. Almost every time he kicked Machida, he got a love tap in the face for kicking him. Points to Machida! Machida has a 65% positive strike average and that was evident during the fight. Yes, Rua gave him a hard time and even his first round losses ever, but Rua did not beat the champ, plain and simple. And in the end, the judges saw what I saw. Yep, little 'ol me. While a lot of crusty MMA fans are crying over Rua's loss---saying "foul" just because Rua happened to kick Machida a few times and tried a couple of unsuccessful take downs---I'm seeing that MMA IS actually a legitimate sport and not governed by emotions and dramatic effects like WWF. Come on fellas! How do I know more about this sport than you all do??? Can't beat the champ by hurting his thighs and giving him a bruise on his ribs. The only way to know for sure, unequivocally, that you won a fight is to FINISH IT. Knock'em out, and make darn sure it doesn't go to the judges. Especially in a title match! Otherwise, it's a likely chance the champ won't be dethroned (except in the match between Rampage Jackson and Forrest Griffin, but that's another story). On the flip side, it was also evident to me that Machida possibly didn't take Rua seriously, and his legs paid a heavy price for it; Muay Thai is definitely a formidable challenge for Karate. Nevertheless, the moral to this story is: never assume someone has won a fight if there wasn't a tap out, TKO or knock out. And never assume someone is landing a punch, wracking up points, just because they throw one. The end. Now on to the rematch. :)

The Loser Countdown

Okay, at this point there are only four undefeated NFL teams: Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, and Minnesota Vikings. I'm really pleased about the Saints being undefeated! I've waited for them to be really relevant for a LONG time now, since my boy Reggie Bush got drafted there in 2006. Granted, Reggie has suffered from the infamous "Heisman curse," but nevertheless, I still love the Saints because he's a part of them. Go Trojans!! Anyway, I'm also happy for the Colts, I like Peyton Manning, seems like a real stand up guy who keeps his nose clean as a player. But the two teams who were spawned by Satan are the Vikings and the Broncos!!! Me no likey! me want them to LOSE!!! Therefore, I predict that the Broncos will be the first to end their winning streak, followed by the Vikings. PLEASE let them be first! I really would love for the Saints to keep their winning streak. And I'm cool with the Colts keeping theirs too. So, let's see what happens this weekend!

Machida Magic

Well it's getting closer and closer to the UFC 104 event which will headline Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua! This is a fight for the light heavyweight title and is taking place in my neck of the woods: the Staples Center in Los Angeles. I love Lyoto Machida as a mixed martial artist because he is the only fighter I know of that uses karate as his striking method, and I am a huge fan of the karate technique and discipline. I came across an interesting video of Machida's last fight against Rashad Evans, where Machida won by knock out. Thought it might be an interesting watch, so check it out!

Okay, I admit it, I've been really neglectful of major league baseball these past few months. I haven't had much to say about it, and I hadn't even watched a game before this past Saturday. But since it's the playoffs, I feel that baseball fever coming on a little bit. The game on Saturday went for 12 innings, with the Yankees coming out on top in the end. There were some good strike outs, good triple plays, and a home run by A-Rod. Good stuff indeed! Granted, I'd still rather attend a baseball game than watch one on the telly, it was kind of exciting watching the Angels play the Yankees in game number three. The Yankees seemed to be giving the Angels a run for their money with a 2-0 lead in the series, but it looks like the Angels may be chugging along to a tied series. Right now, the Yankees lead the series 2-1. Stay tuned! I know I will. Go Angels!!

NFL Kickers With Two Left Feet!

I don't think I've been more frustrated watching NFL football as I was this weekend watching two crutch time games: one between the Minnesota Vikings and the Baltimore Ravens, and one between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills. In both games, the ball game boiled down to the kickers. And in both games....the kickers were boneheads and missed EASY kicks!! I was SO mad after watching Minnesota win their game against Baltimore, that I actually walked away cursing and mumbling to myself like a crusty old man. It was .38 seconds left in the game, the score is 31-33, Minnesota up. Baltimore has a chance to win it with a 3 pointer kick, and what does the kicker do?? Kicked the ball like a fifth grader! Right past the goal, far left. I think I could have kicked it better. Ridiculous. I really wanted the Vikings to lose too. And in the other game between the Jets and the Bills, they ended up going to over time because the dumb kicker missed another easy kick! Luckily, he got his chance to come back out and win it, but it would have been over if he would have done his thing like he was supposed to the first time.....where is the NFL recruiting these bunk kickers from?? Lead Foot University?? Geesh!

Well, it's official...T.O.'s stint with the Buffalo Bills was a bust. And it's not his fault. He can't drop a ball that's never thrown to him. Right? Anyway, it's back to the drawing board as there are talks that he me traded to the Chicago Bears before that deadline next week. I say let him go! He doesn't need to be marginalized this late in his career. And Buffalo is missing out on some Hall of Fame talent. Yes, let T.O. team up with Cutler, who has been doing fabulous after falling flat in his first season game. Cutler's numbers and fearless attitude about throwing the ball down field represents the kind of quarterback T.O. should be playing with. A mediocre quarterback often causes a mediocre performance out from his wide receivers. Well, nothing is finalized or even confirmed about a T.O. switcharoo, but I'll sure be keeping my eyes and ears open on this one. ;)

I'd Like An Audience Please......

As far as I'm concerned, the two "villains" of the NFL this year are Michael Crabtree and Josh McDaniels. Some people say they are just "shrewd" and behaved like any man should who wants to get ahead. I say, they thought about number one "themselves." I don't like them, but guess what, they seem to be getting the best that the NFL has to offer so far. Crabtree finally got a deal that made him come out his crab shell. He pouted just long enough to garner a 5 year, 17 mil guaranteed contract with a cap at 32 mil. That cap is basically higher than the guy (Bey) on the Raiders who started his tantrum in the first place. So guess what, now that he has gotten his way "he is humbled." Humble?? Dude, that word shouldn't even come near your mouth. You wouldn't know humility if it jumped up and slapped you on your high and mighty azz. And Josh McDirty Daniels has led his Bronco team to an undefeated season so far. Is that luck of the Irish, or did he channel his father Satan for a favor? Yeah, way to go teach the younguns that it's okay to be underhanded to get what you want (try to trade your quarterback behind his back), because you'll end up on top anyway if you ALWAYS put yourself first. Remember kiddies, think of the BIG picture when it's a big picture of YOU....I shake my head in disgust over these two "gentlemen." It's a shame what some folks have relegated pro football to; and sadly, sometimes success is all you need to justify bad behavior. Cut throat, like a bunch of crabs in a barrel pulling one another down while trying to climb up. I'm done pontificating, I'm out of this mug...*throws down the microphone*

OMG! I Broke a Nail!

Okay...the NFL needs to stop wimp-a-fying it's quarterbacks. No one wants to watch a game and see quarterbacks playing who may wear panties. Every time you turn around, there's a flag being thrown for "roughing the passer." They're footballers first and quarterbacks second and that's what football is all about: getting hit, being tough! Since when do they make quarterbacks who can't take a hit? Who would rather run from a defender and throw an intentional grounding ball, than look out for a wide receiver to throw the ball too? Granted, sometimes it's wise for a QB to throw a ball away if they don't see someone in the open to throw it too rather than lose yardage if he gets sacked, but I swear I've seen receivers out there waving their hands for the ball while QBs are tip toeing and "jete"-ing away from defenders trying to avoid being touched. We need to go back to the days when the QBs were up for a little rough and tumble, like Joe Namath, Joe Theismann, and Doug Williams. Them were MANLY men, not like these quarterbacks o'day who get manicures, take modeling pics, and get matching eyebrows like their wives (ahem Tom Brady). Something needs to be done about these ticky tack flags for roughing the passer. Let the boys play ball!!

Gold For Golf??!

Oh, what is this? What in the world is this? Golf has been included as a legitimate sport for the 2016 Olympics! I dunno, I might be off base, but I really see this as a snoozefest event. Don't get me wrong, I love golf. We had a golf course near my house when I was growing up and I often frequented it with my dad to watch him play. I loved playing with his golf clubs when he wasn't around too!! But golf is just not really exciting...unless Tiger is playing it. And Tiger is not an amateur golfer!! I rarely watch golf now with the pros, why would I want to watch amateurs play? There are other events in the Olympics that bore me, like cross country running and "competitive walking" LOL. Why would they add another sport to make those look like fun? Hopefully, they will take these next four years to really evaluate how they're gonna make this work. And who knows, maybe Rio is the best spot for it to make it's debut. They can have Carnival dancers on the side shaking their booties between swings! LOL

Ummmm, what kind of coach hits his own staff? Looks like the Raiders coach is that kind of guy, and also one who might be going to jail. Where'd the Raiders get this guy? Someone has just GOT to put on a thinking cap in that organization. They haven't the slightest clue what to do next. And by "they" I mean Al Davis. The Raiders are cursed beyond cursed. They are the black hole of the NFL. Players go in there, and disappear until they are traded to other teams. Case in point, Randy Moss, who seemed to do nothing but smoke pot while with the Raiders, but is piling on the numbers playing for the New England Patriots. And now this, the head coach is a GANGSTA?! Tom Cable....did you pass Kindergarten? Didn't they teach you to keep your hands to yourself? Wow...NFL head coaches with no impulse control. What's next, coaches who also moonlight as strippers? Well, at the least, Cable will be suspended, which means the Raiders will have to adjust to a new coach. WONDERFUL! And, ummm, doesn't he bear a strong resemblance to Fred Flintstone? LOL, I'm just sayin....

Oh...so NOW he wants to talk. The rookie from hell Michael Crabtree that is....What, is he getting ansy on the sidelines in his own little world, where he be the boss? Is he getting jealous watching his other first round draft pick bros bask in their glory? Perhaps he wants to go out there and razzle dazzle everyone with his skills. RIGHT! Too late buddy, because no ones cares to see what you have to offer any more. I hope Crabtree is fat and even slower than he was before the draft. I don't want to see him play. BUT supposedly he is back in negotiations with the San Francisco 49ers. Apparently, he's either broke or has come to his senses. My mother always told me to not "keep up with what the Joneses are doing." This whole thing is predicated on him looking over at the Raiders and and wanting what someone else has gotten. For him, it's all about the money. He's a prime candidate for becoming a kid who will get his contract, get out there on the field and do absolutely NADA, but rake in a check. Then he'll be done by the time he's eligible for free agency. And broke within five years. Yeah, I know this kid's story. He's a cautionary tale. And what will he stand to gain if he holds out and doesn't get his contract after all? He'll still be out of the money, and he'll have a side of a bad reputation to go along with that, thank you. I tell you, they just aren't making ball players like they used to. No dignity at all. We've got some who won't leave, even when they're gray and crusty. Mixed martial arts is on FYAH! Yeah, I'm really feelin' it ya'll. Some exciting stuff going on. There are some new weight category rankings. Check them out. They are all pretty right on point, though I'd like to see Anderson Silva rise up a little higher in the light middle weight category. Anderson was ranked number five....I don't like seeing him at number five in any ranking. Yes, I was mad at him for being Brazilian when Cyborg beat Gina Carano (WAHHHHHH!), but, I'm over it. ALSO in exciting MMA news, looks like the Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort is gonna happen. Yep, January 2, UFC 108. Hmmmm, that should be a good one. I am also looking forward to seeing Kimbo Slice have his first fight on The Ultimate Fighter tonight on Spike TV. I'm kind of nervous for the big fella, but I know he's determinied to make himself worthy of an UFC contract. He showed a lot of humility being willing to even be on that show after Dana White clowned him when he was fighting for EliteXC. And lastly, I heard through the grapevine that Randy Couture's ex wife is planning on fighting his next opponent's wife. Brandon Vera's wife, Kerry, is a kickboxer; and Randy's ex, Kim trains MMA. Both ladies fight for Strikeforce, it should be a pretty good match! Good stuff!

Okay, T.O. seems to be basically the best thing to happen to the Buffalo Bills in YEARS! So does someone want to tell me why their brilliant quarterback Trent Edwards WON'T just THROW HIM THE BALL?? I mean, the man is a veritable Hall of Famer and he's STILL in the game. How do you have a formidable weapon like that on your team and not use it? What kind of intelligence supports that decision? I don't care that T.O. is new, and that maybe Edwards doesn't "know him" well enough yet. Please, EVERYBODY who isn't mentally challenged knows what T.O. is capable of. He is capable of giving your team a win and making an 80 plus yard touchdown run. Simple, throw T.O. the ball, you will probably win. Don't throw him the ball for the WHOLE GAME and you will undoubtedly LOSE. And as for that clever little fan who dumped popcorn on T.O. after the game? I've got something for you. What game were you at? Were you that drunk that you didn't realize T.O. had nothing to do with your team losing? How does someone so stupid even have enough money to buy a ticket to a pro football game? Seriously, T.O. doesn't have to put up with this foolishness at the tail end of a spectacular NFL career. What a little TOOL! I really hate to even give this little weeny any more press, but what in the bloody hell is wrong with Michael Crabtree? I mean, it actually seems likes it's been good for team moral to have him NOT show up. It has seemed to sharpen the San Francisco's 49ers resolve to do better without him, and they ARE! They go into this weekend of ballgames 2-0 and thus listed in the top 10 teams in the power rankings. Good for them! meanwhile, I still can't believe this kid is still holding out over a mere 5 million dollar discrepancy! The guy he's jealous of, Darrius Heyward Bey, was chosen instead of him by the Raider's team and signed a guaranteed 23.5 million dollar contract. The 49ers offered Crabtree 20 million (which is very handsome for someone drafted at number 10) and THAT sparked his little tantrum. I really don't like him. I don't ever want to see him play with a good contract. I want him to end up having to play minor league ball, or getting drafted number 40 in the 2010 draft and offered 3 million for one year! Arrogant little brat. What's interesting is that no one in his "camp" will admit to advising him to hold out. I guess that they are even embarrassed of the monster they've created now. I hope his standout teaches other rookies a lesson, which is why I hope he ultimately doesn't get his way! Booooo Crabtree! Go 49ers!!

NFL Power Rankings are....Interesting

Okay, the power rankings are out for this week and I find the number one pick...interesting. Baltimore Ravens? Hunh? Where'd that come from? These guys seemed to come out of nowhere! They are 2-0, just like most of the other top 10 teams this week, but they got number one because of WHO they beat last week: San Diego Chargers and their big mouth quarterback Philip Rivers. I'm not hating on the Ravens, we need some fresh meat at the top. Actually, I am SO tired of hearing the same ol same ol in the power rankings, like the Patriots number one and/or Pittsburgh. More interesting, yet good news, is that my boys the New Orelan Saints are ranked number two. Yippeee! I'm a big Saints fan and I've been waiting for them to play some ball like their personnel is capable of. I've been waiting for Reggie Bush and Marques Colsten to do some DAMAGE. And they did just that last weekend by beating the Philadelphia Eagles REALLY bad. And MArk Sanchez, the trader, has really been showing out! So much so, his New York Jets rank at number four this week. BUMMER! Haha, not really, I guess mark made the right choice by leaving my Trojans high and dry in order to go pro. Well, one thing is for sure, the rankings won't last. They'll be different by next week, and probably just as....interesting. Hmmmmmm

Congratulations to Peyton Manning for winning his 119th game as starting quarterback! Peyton seems like such a class act guy, and comes from good breeding, obviously. As I was watching the Mike & Mike show on ESPN this morning they were comparing Manning to Johnny Unitas because he broke his record for QB wins. That is so annoying to me. Can they ever just let a man accomplish something without having to steal his thunder and compare him to the ancients? They even asked Peyton last night about Unitas in his post game interview, I felt sorry for him, but he graciously answered the questions. I can't recall things being so comparative back in the day, when Joe Namath and Joe Theismann were playing. I'd say the players nowadays are breaking more records now than they did back then, but analysts just won't give them their due---at least they won't without also having to come back and remind them that someone else, long ago was better. What gives??? Anyway, hats off to our 21st century phenoms! It's truly a new day!!

Well, you can take the girl out of Compton but you can't take the Compton out of the girl after all. Serena, and I love her, has been trying to convince the world that she is dainty and has class for the last 10 years or so. I have to admit...it was working...until her "BF" at her U.S. Open semi-finals with that fuzzyheaded judge. I saw the video. I couldn't hear what she said, but I felt the Monifah coming out of her mouth! I read that loud and clear. She went ghetto fabulous on that judge and used the ball as her prop, for dramatic effect, as it were. Well, I wasn't mad at her when I watched the video, and I'm not mad now. What did we all expect? That she would be able to hide the fact that her body makes too much testosterone forever? LOL, I tease Serena a lot about her mannishness, but I really like her. And I consider her a lady, or at least a well trained lady o' day. By that I mean, she knows how to turn on the charm in a sport that requires a lot of decorum and pomp. Bottomline...I bet that judge will think twice the next time she makes a bad call during one of SERENA'S matches. And I bet she really was wrong after all anyway. And I don't look down on Serena at all just because she's really GANGSTA! TEAM SERENA! ;)

I just watched one of the most painful NFL losses I think I have ever seen.....It's four o'clock, and there I was all excited to finally see the Buffalo Bills and my T.O play the New England Patriots. I was even feeling just a tad neutral because I was kind of excited for Tom Brady, since it was his first game back after being out all last season. The game is going well, the Bills are playing good. They are ignoring my man T.O. and not throwing him the ball, BUT they are delivering a winning game, so I'm forgiving their negligence. I'm even excited to see Randy Moss' ugly mug play a good game (mainly because in my heart, I just knew he was gonna lose anyway). So we get down to the wire, a ten point game in the Bills favor, then WHAMMO! The Patriots score an easy touchdown. THEN, some Bills player I don't even know pops a stupid pill before he runs on field and BLOWS the WHOLE game! Dude (who will remain nameless), makes a dumb run after he catches the ball and fumbles. All of this happening after the Patriots just scored a touchdown that brought them within 4 points of tying the game. UGH! And guess what happens, boys and girls? The Patriots recover the dimwits fumble and SCORE ANOTHER TOUCHDOWN......the game ends with the Pats winning 25 - 24. And....I'm the most disappointed I think I've EVER been after watching a team I like lose. This was the Bills chance to finally end a 12 game losing streak to the Pats in New England. *Sigh* Can football players be, like, fired?

Tyson Gay is the little engine that could! He sure has some heart, doesn't he. In the race that Usain Bolt dropped out of because he was "fatugued," Tyson showed up and came out on top. Is it me, but didn't these two just run the same races in the World Championships? Shouldn't Tyson be tired too? Usain wimped out, he's got a big mouth, but can't hold up to it. Usain has been complaining about fatigue, "it's been a long year," whatever, shut your mouth and run. Or stop beating your chest, you're obviously not invincible, Mr. Bolt. Well it's official, Caster Semenaya, the woman who won the 800m gold medal in the IAAF World Championship track meet, is a hermaphrodite! She has no uterus, no ovaries, but she has a vaginal canal and internal testes....Okay, this is no medical mystery, happens all the time. However, she has no way of producing estrogen, so how can she be classified as a woman? In fact, she has all the parts to produce testosterone! Personally, I don't see how she could hang on to her gold medal. Those other women did not compete against their peer. She may be allowed to take estrogen and compete as a woman in the future, but I don't think she should not be allowed to keep her gold medal for her performance in the Championships this summer. It's just not fair to the other girls. I don't think she should be ostracized and treated like a freak, I just think that she should be a natural woman in order to compete with other natural women. Am I wrong about that? Hmmmmm.

Football Season is ON!!

I am, as we speak, watching the first football game of the season!! The game pits the fabulous superbowl champs Pittsburgh Steelers against the Tennessee Titans! Good lord, I'm so excited. Seems like this season was taking it's ever-loving time to begin. And these boys obviously need to do something with their time. Talk about causing trouble and getting into all kinds of mayhem! I dunno, is it just me? But haven't the boys been especially naughty this year? And in other news, looks like Brandon Marshall's whining has paid off for him. Again, he has proven the old adage that if you deliver for a team, you hold the "powers that be's" balls in your hands. Notwithstanding that Marshall is a wide receiver, the pun was intended. All I can say is, they couldn't stand to lose a another star player after letting Jay Cutler go. Also, we got quarterbacks scoring 90 million dollar contracts, and some quarterbacks taking pay cuts in order to attract good players to their team. Whoo! Fun times, let the games begin!!! :D

Well God bless him, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has gotten his swagger back! Not only did he win by decision against the MMA dinosaur Randy Couture in UFC 102, but after the fight he called out the jolly blond giant himself Brock Lesnar! I was SO excited to hear him mention the word "Lesnar" among the other almost unrecognizable English words he spoke through his heavy Brazilian accent during the post fight interview last Saturday night. Some may recall that after Lesnar destroyed Frank Mir in their heavyweight belt rematch fight, I prayed openly for someone to come down from wherever to give Brock a GOOD beat down. Looks like my prayers may have been answered! I think Nogueira has what it takes to beat Lesnar. He has stellar jujitsu skills, so when Brock does his usual "take a man down to ground and pound," Nogueira may just have something for him down there. I would love to see this cornfed Nordic throw back get submitted in round 2, so he can't claim that Nogueira "just got lucky" like he did when Mir submitted him in less than a minute in their first match. And this Nogueira win would be even more sublime because Mir beat him, giving him his first knockout loss, in UFC 92. So looks like Nogueira vs. Lesnar is going to happen! Let's get ready to rumble!! :)

Are there any other ladies out there who LOVE going to sports bars?? Well, maybe it's just me, but I LOVE them. It's common practice for me to make a lunch date with a gal pal and pick a sports bar for the hook up spot. My friends are often baffled by my choice when we get there, but I pay them no mind and nudge them in anyway. It's not uncommon for me to have one eye and ear in the conversation, and the other eye and ear focused on the myriad sporting events being displayed on multiple TV screens. Yes, lunch dates usually have a dual purpose for me....and they often include sports. Heck, I even enjoy going to Hooters!! I'm secure enough, mainly because my hooters are often bigger than the Hooter waitresses, LOL. Anyway, I love the smell and color of the dark leather seats, the naked walnut/oak wooden tables, the dark tone colors that encompass the design schemes, and the low mumble of male voices drinking tall ones that usually make up the sports bar experience. But then again, maybe that's just me. :)

Well, looks like the CFL read my blog after all! LOL, O dear how arrogant of me. But seriously, two days after I blog about Adam "Packidee Wack-man" Jones being signed to play for one year with a team in Canada, reports surface that the team, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, won't be signing Sir Sin-a-lot after all. Looks like they've come to their senses, and checked out his background. My question is, why didn't they do this before hand?? It's not like any of this guy's antics over the years have been a secret. How could they have been so obsessed with winning games that they were willing to consider signing him in the first place? This is why I am enjoying reading Tony Dungy's book "Uncommon." He talks a lot about "character" and how the Colts organization has a rule about only drafting or accepting players based on their character as well as their abilities. In fact, he said that when they evaluate players in the NFL draft they have a category on their evaluation forms called "DNDC" or "Do Not Draft because of Character." This practice is exactly why the Colt's have had such a successful run for the past 10 years, and why Dungy had been such an integral part of their success. That said, I really think this Jones kid needs to go back to the basics before he tries to run with the big boys again. He needs a life do-over, and there's no shame in that. The shame is in him thinking that he can go around showing his azz and expect life not to kick it. LOL

Could folks PLEASE stop financing Adam "Pacman" Jones' road to destruction? Please? Someone please just gently nudge this fella towards the light instead of giving him money. Sigh...deep, heavy sigh...I guess Pacman is using his 8th pro football life to play in the Canada Football league (CFL) for one year. Yes, CANADA, how desperate. I wanted to wish this kid well LAST YEAR. I wanted to believe he could get his act together and use his talents when the Cowboys picked him up. Alas, I think he is just too stripper-whipped to be of any good to himself or any professional sports organization. Thus, he left the country to play and practice his debauchery in peace. Seriously, they say that "youth is wasted on the young" and this guy proves that. I don't want to be a sour puss, but I just can't get optimistic about his career move. I don't think he will EVER make it back to the NFL. The NFL only had one bad boy golden ticket and they just gave it to Michael Vick. Granted, Pacman has never been incarcerated, but he might as well have been! He has been doing nothing but being a colossal pain in the arse since he first got drafted (pun intended)! Anyway, I won't watch a single Canadian football game, and I hope he plays a few more years there and finds God. And if he decides to try his hand at a rap career, I'll SCREAMMMMM! LOL

THIS Is Why I HATE Pre-Season Football!

INJURIES!! Seriously, I hate preseason football because it can and usually does knock certain teams out of a possibly good position before the season even starts! Because of injuries. So far, the count for star players with preseason injury issues is getting higher. Let's see, there is T.O. with an injured toe, Tom Brady just hurt his right shoulder, Matt Cassel (who just signed a multi-million dollar contract) just injured his leg, and the ever so lucky Denver Broncos just lost their starting QB, Lyle Orton to a gashed finger injury. Also, some lesser players get hurt in the preseason and it ends their careers. Granted, it's par for the course--gotta have a preseason--and most of these injuries are sort of minor and won't make much of an impact on these players playing time in the regular season. BUT I just wish that they didn't have to play so many preseason games and take the risks. It should be shorter and possibly bi-monthly instead of every week. HEY! I don't have the answers here! But I'm just saying I don't like it...I'm just saying..... :P

Well, it looks like "schleprock" has entered the Denver Broncos building disguised as Josh McDaniels. Ever since this cat got hired on as the new head coach, he has done nothing but wreak havoc for the team. First, he is highly to blame for the team losing their starting quarterback Jay Cutler by going behind Jay's back and courting another QB to take his starting position (for no good reason I might add!!!). Second, the new "star and hope" of the team Brandon Marshall gets suspended for "misconduct." Hmmmmm. Well, Brandon has been missing practices during training camp and acting "insubordinate" when he does show up. If so, he deserves to be reprimanded for that. But it turns out, Brandon is not happy with his contract and basically withholding the luv until the numbers add up. Good lord! How unlucky can one guy be! You try to get rid of a good player, for no good reason, he finds out and leaves you high and dry. Then the guy you want to keep is an A-hole, greedy primadonna who "doesn't wanna play if he doesn't get his way" so you have to end up suspending him anyway. HAHAHA! I dunno. But it doesn't look like McDaniels has the luck of the Irish. The season hasn't even started and he is crashing and burning. :p

I love it! I love how sports stars are getting heavily into the memoir game. I mean, if former rock star drug addicts can write a book chronicling their rise and fall in life, why shouldn't a successful athlete give us the inside scoop on their life success. I just bought former NFL coach Tony Dungy's book called "Uncommon" and I can't wait to read it. But, when I picked that one up, I noticed that Serena also has a "memoir" out now called "On The Line." Wonderful! Well, I know that she is only 27 years old and by that number she shouldn't really have a whole lot to say about her life, but I think she has really lived a very full life thus far! She has experienced some things that the average person who lives to be 70 will never experience in their life time. In fact, she has such a bright spirit, most people have forgotten that her older sister, Yetunde, was murdered in 2003. Despite withstanding the adversity associatied with being a black female athlete suceeding in a traditionally white sport, and experiencing difficulty and pain, Serena's personality definitely seems to live up to the derivative of her name: "serene."And she seems to be holding it down with her man Common, one of the best and hawtest rappers to ever hit the rap game. I imagine the memoir will be a very interesting read!

Hmmmmm, Mark Sanchez, the trader, won the starting quarterback position with the New York Jets. The news was just announced yesterday by the Jets head coach Rex Ryan. Sanchez will be the first rookie quarterback to EVER start in the QB position in a regular season. I am.....HALFWAY happy for him. The other half of me wants him to fall flat on his wide, chubby fanny for abandoning my USC Trojans by dropping out of college to join the NFL draft! It was TRULY a decision about money, not about heart and love for the game, in my point of view. But on the other hand, I'm kinda flattered that we produced such a skillful QB; one that pushed aside a veteran QB and stole his starting position like a gangsta, haha. Awwwww, heck! I'm just torn over this guy! Can you tell? LOL. Anyway, he left us (USC) truly wanting and in trouble. Not sure we were ready to let him go and if we've had enough time to readjust to the change of a new QB. I guess I wish him, luck...but only because I'm trying to be mature about it. My inner co-ed Trojan yells "BOOOOOOOO Mark Sanchez!! Boooooo, get sacked 21 times in one game!" Teeheehee :p

What a way to start a pro NBA career! This guy gets a *BD* (Big Dummy) with four out of five snaps! Miami Heat rookie Michael Beasley is a POTHEAD. That's right. And he's so bad with it, that he is already at the "paranoia" stage that all potheads get to eventually. I knew he always looked high, LOL! I guess that explains his rather lackluster first year last year. Sorry if it sounds like I have nada sympathy for him, but I don'! Personally, I think he just ruined his reputation, and thus his career. Anyway, he started his first stint in rehab yesterday. Rumors have it that he posted a suicidal message on his Twitter a few days ago. Success, fame, and fortune just don't do some folks well. I am actually surprised that it's JUST pot. I mean, marijuana is usually a segue drug. Well, I wish him well and I hope we don't hear any more bad news about this guy as he attempts to have an NBA career.

400 Is The Magic Number!!

Now that's what I'm talking about!! The U.S. track team finally showed us what we like to see. They pulled off two impressive wins in the 4x400 races on Sunday. The women, who many thought would struggle competing against Russia in the final, SMOKED the competition! Every lady seemed to run her best, as we held a lead all throughout the race. Allyson Felix gave the team a wide margin, but Sanya Richards made the gap even wider on the last leg of the race. It was truly no contest! On the mens side, they were favored to win, so it was looking like it would be more of the same, until Angelo Taylor started the race for the team. Dude ran like he had just scarfed two double cheeseburger and wanted to take a post lunch nap. I was expecting him to zoom out and gives us an expected lead, but NO! By the time he got back to pass the baton, we were in THIRD place. I sighed, thinking, we had been visited by the schleprock again, but Jeremy Warner saved the day! He caught up and gave us our signature gap that we were expecting. He ended up running the fastest time in the race! All in all, we eneded up wiining more gold medals than Jamaica Ha Ha! So, I'm not happy, but I'm thrilled. Congrats ladies and gents!

These two ladies get a heterosexual "HAWTIE" vote from me, hehe. Sage is a sports reporter for ESPN SportsCenter, she's 37 and a married mother of three. She's been in the game a long time and she has worked with some of the finest in the sports business, such as: Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic from ESPN's "Mike & Mike" fame, and Mike Ditka. Pleading Plaxico!

Well, in classy Michael Vick fashion, Plaxico Burress plead GUILTY to his gun charges today. As a result, he will serve 2 years in prison. I saw footage of Plaxico entering the courtroom on the news...he was by himself. Maybe his lawyer wife got a clue. I bet he is just a BREEZE to live with, LOL. Cocky much, Plaxico?? Anyway, doesn't seem like anyone in the NFL is crying over his impending absence on the field. He hasn't played in a year or so anyway. The NY Giants suspended him when he first shot himself in the thigh in that bar. And then they released him from the team a few months ago. Word had it he was shopping around for a team before training camp started, but no takers. Plaxico was good at what he did, one of the best wide receivers in the game, but I could smell that bad attitude a mile away. Unfortunately, seems a lot of good ball players go out like that. They have good careers, but they let their primadonna, above the rules/law attitudes tear down everything they built up over the years. There really is no excuse for stupidity of THIS magnitude, SO, Plax gets a loud and hearty "BD" (Big Dummy) from me and four snaps for ruining his career, his reputation, and his legendary status as an NFL player. {{BIG DUMMY}} Plaxico!!!

Beyond the fact that he is acting indecisive and feeble-minded these past two years, here's more proof that Favre is just too old to be playing football: analysts believe that he put on this fiasco about "retiring" JUST to get out of going to camp!! That's right Brett "lazy bones jones" Favre just may have wanted to buy enough time to sit on his cheeks and not workout with the rest of the hardworking NFL players out there! Those Jamaicans must have something in the water out there! First, Usain Bolt set another world record in the 100m dash running a ridiculous 9.58 time. Then the Jamaican ladies win the gold (Olympic gold winner Shelly-Ann Fraser) and silver (Kerron Stewart) in the 100m women's dash. America's Carmelita Jeter won the bronze. American sprinters have their work set out for them if they want to regain the title of the worlds fastest sprinters any time soon. So far, Jamaica has been on a two your trend of beating us. I really just hope that nothing comes out later about these Jamaicans doping and such. That would be disconcerting to say the least. I guess it's also possible, whereas, just a month ago, five Jamaican runners tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. I'm just saying.....At any rate, Jamaica has now produced the fastest running human and the biggest clown in the history of the world, LOL. Okay, I'll be nice, congratulations Usain and Jamaica! More races to come in the IAAF World Championships, so stay tuned! It's airing on NBC and Versus channels and the last day is Sunday. :)

Rumor has it that Brett "dinosaur bones" Favre has signed a deal with the Minnesota Vikings!! NOOOOOO! This news comes shy of one month where he announced that he would stay retired. It's only a rumor at this point, but sources have outted the news saying the deal has already been signed. And Favre did fly out to Minnesota today for some odd reason....Egads! This man is 39 years old and is pretty much set to be entered into the NFL Hall of Fame IF HE WOULD JUST STAY RETIRED LONG ENOUGH!! Good lord...what do we have to do to keep this guy away from the NFL and keep him retired??? Does his wife and kids bore him THAT much?! :(

The Beast Must Be Contained....

Well, Gina did lose. She lasted almost one round, and for the most part put on an impressive performance before that beast from hell, Cris Cyborg pinned her to the fence and stole the match. I could be wrong, but if "it" was born a woman, I'll eat my hat (buy one and eat it). The good news is, Gina escaped from every submission attempt that Cyborg threw at her. She took quite a few strikes, and landed a few herself. In the end, I think she lost the fight out of exhaustion and having less strength. Cyborg is one strong chick, and that was evident. Her neck is wider than most men I know!! Not entirely sure a very naturally feminine woman like Gina could build enough muscle to be much stronger than she is right now. But this one thing I do know, Gina smells blood now! If she didn't really want it before, she wants it now and I can already project that there will be a rematch. In addition, more good news is that this unprecedented fight has drawn MANY female MMA fighters out of the woodworks. They want a piece of the beast, and I can't wait to see her go down! I'm officially tired of seeing the Brazilians win (and yes, even my boy Anderson Silva is hanging by a thread). I have a new vendetta....it's not about nationalism, I just don't like to see one country dominate in an international sporting event. Kinda like my irritation with Jamaica dominating in the sprinting events in track and field, but that's another story. So stay tuned! Looks like the girls are about to BLOW UP! Soapbox Moment: "Caring Matters"

Okay, I admitted a few weeks ago that I JUST couldn't wait to watch some pro football. Regardless of the incredibly lackluster Combine and draft, I was still looking forward to seeing those boys doing their thang on the field. Hence, when I found out that the pre-season games have been coming on, I couldn't wait to tune in! So I did.....for the past three days...and....I find that the games are, for lack of a better term, prosaic. Yes, that's right. I'm not digging it. And I think it's because, with pre-season football, I just don't give a Hoover-Dam who wins. And there is the rub. Football is really only football when you care about the outcome! Football just for the sake of football, is like watching paint dry. So yes, I know that these games are vitally important in terms of trying out new personnel, but hey I'm in for the personal satisfaction that MY team is winning and getting that much closer to the playoffs. "Caring matters," and right now I just don't care unless the win counts. Football is not just entertainment to me, perhaps it should be, but I have my reality shows for that. So, *yawn,* guess I'll pass on pre-season football and keep my eye out for a sport with some real competiton until the NFL season starts. Patience is indeed a virtue! teeheehee

U.S. Just Gave it Away

I didn't watch the match, but I hear the soccer match between the U.S. and Mexico was a nail-biter! Turns out, the U.S. had the lead for the first time EVER since they've played in Mexico. BUT they gave that lead away. Perhaps they got a little too over confident. Needless to say, it's a very disappointing loss. I'm also sure that many soccer fans from the U.S. felt a bit torn, since so many Americans have roots or families from or in Mexico. I know that some of my Facebook friends, were riding the fence with who they were rooting for. To me, it's just exciting to have the U.S. be a contender for the world cup! I mean, we'll have to learn how to hold onto leads and not get too ahead of ourselves if we want it, but it's great to be in the running for it! We need to re-group and keep our eyes on the prize. And this loss notwithstanding, we are still number three in the overall standings. Good luck U.S.!

Michael Vick Gets 60 Minutes....

Yes, Mike will get one whole hour to 'splain himself and this better be GOOD! I guess this is the first stop in his "create good press" tour before football season starts. Vick is hoping to grab a new team home in the coming weeks. His "personal life guru" and former Colts coach Tony Dungy suspects that he will be signing with a team real soon. Well I guess Vick understands that signing is just the first step. He also has to win over the public so that the fans of whatever team he chooses won't stop buying season tickets, AND win over his potential teammates who may not want to have a social pariah on their team as well. Anyway, Vick's interview will be airing on 60 Minutes on CBS, Sunday 7 ET/PT. Let's just see what you have to say for yourself, Mr. Man!!

The World's Best.....

It's that time of year! Time to watch the worlds best track and field athletes in the world compete at the IAAF World Championships. This year the event will occur in Berlin, Germany. It starts on Saturday, August 15th and ends on August 23rd . It's a very exciting annual event, but this year it is not without it's controversy. Jamaica has just asked to withdraw Olympic gold medalist Asafa Powell and five of his teammates from the competition. Their request is said to stem from training camp disputes, meaning these athletes aren't training in the specified spot in Berlin....Okay, that's REALLY vague, but that seems to be the issue. Among the five other teammates to be possibly excluded is sprinter Shericka Williams, and she's good! Don't get me wrong, there is no love between me and "Team Jamaica" but I wouldn't like to see their team compromised in this way. It's good fun competition and I love it when the American runners beat them! So, I want to see them there. And there is hope that they will be, because the official list is not set in stone until Thursday. Who knows, Jamaican oficials could change their mind by then. If not, we could see a whole new outcome in the sprinting events, especially the sprint relays! We'll see!

I don't know about you, but I am REALLY missing and looking forward to the football season. I am more of an NFL fan than college, but I enjoy watching both. Pro football has a lot of drama going on. Like, if I hear about one more African-American NFL player and hear "jail time," DUI," "strip club,"or "guns" in the same sentence again I'll SCREAM! I am sick an tired of those guys getting in trouble, it makes me think of a skit I saw on MADD TV once that simply asked the question "Is money making black people crazy?" LOL! In terms of these pro players, the question DEFINITELY makes you go "hmmmmm" But to be fair, there are a few Ben Roethlisbergers out there too. And it's STILL ridiculous........Okay, let me compose myself because there is some good news at the end of the tunnel for one pro convict. Looks like Michael "Con-Vick" has five teams interested in him! So, he's definitely gonna get a contract with some team. But, will he play? Will the fans accept him? Or what if his teammates have issues with him as well? Hmmmmm. I guess this is his last chance so he'd better make it work. Anyway, preseason football is here!! The Cowboys play the Titans on Thursday! Don't really care about either team, but it will be good to tune in to a fooseball game just the same!

Hey ya'll just FYI, there's a WBNA game coming on today at 9 pm (ET) on ESPN2! The LA Sparks will be hosting the New York Liberty at the Staple Center. The Sparks won a game last night against the Indiana Fever. Gratz to them AND to Lisa Leslie who scored 21 points and had 11 rebounds which obviously lead the Sparks to their 75 - 63 win. But the real news is that Leslie reached a career milestone by scoring a career 6k points! Kudos Lady L! I think she is so gorgeous too, she makes being a gigantic woman look GOOD, LOL. And in other exciting WNBA news, president Obama has said that the WNBA inspires his daughters! Now THAT'S something our lady ball players should really be proud of. I don't know of any other president giving them public props like that. Keep up the good work ladies! Eventually, you might even be able to make a real living off of doing what you obviously love to do! I seriously think that female athletes like the WBNA ladies are the TRUE athletes out there. They do it for the love of the game, NOT the money. ;)

UFC's Brazilian Powerhouse: Anderson Silva!

Mixed Martial Arts is one of the most exciting and athletically superior sports in the world! I just saw one of the best mixed martial artists annihilate yet another opponent last night. Anderson Silva faced Forrest Griffin in a light heavy weight bout in UFC 101. First of all, Anderson is gorgeous and just about the sexiest thing since actor/director Mario Van Peeples (who he bares a striking resemblance to). Second, he ROCKS in the ring. Third, he has two last names as his whole name: one American and one Hispanic which, I find very sexy as well, GRRRRRR! But on a more serious note, he has a fluid way of sparring with his opponent that leads me to believe he not only trains as a martial artist, boxer, and wrestler, but that he also plays capoiera. I used to play capoeira, so I recognize his moves. Silva moves like a cobra, and his strike is just as lethal! Well, he struck Forrest down three times in the first 3:32. And his last strike at 3:32 was the end of it. Forrest signaled "no mas" with an extended arm, pleaing to Silva not to hit him again while he was down. Silva acquiesed and the fight was over. Despite much speculation that Silva had finally met his match in Forrest, Silva exploded in the ring and garnered a dynamic win. Wooo hooo! Silva just makes me want to have sexy time, but that's beside the point here. He went up in his weight class from 185 to 205 becuase he had already earned the belt in his former class. He has not lost a fight since this weight class move, which has his own manager speculating that he will stay in this heavier class and fight for the title. If he does that, he will forfeit his middleweight title. He will ALSO have to face pressure to fight his BFF, training partner and "soul brother" Lyoto Machida (who holds the light heavyweight belt as we speak). Anderson says that fight will never happen, but UFC's president, Dana White, says "he can make it happen." LOL, what a tool. Personally, I think if Dana keeps pushing it, Silva's heart is so golden he would rather retire than fight his friend. Anyway, because of matches and controversies like this, MMA gets a big I LOVE IT from me! Who needs to watch soap operas! Teeheehee

What in the world has gotten into Michael Crabtree's brain?? I can't believe that this ROOKIE fresh out of diapers, who hasn't played ONE game for the NFL has the audacity to contemplate putting himself on strike if he is not awarded more money in his contract. Crabtree was the "10th" pick in the first round NFL draft. He was picked up by the San Francisco 49ers, who were NICE enough to do that even though he was injured and did a shabby job at the Combine this year. Despite his outstanding performance last year for Texas Tech, something told me this kid was gonna be a bust in the NFL when he came to the Combine all busted up. And he'll have a little slowness to go along with that big head of his. At 6'2, 215 pounds, he's also a tad scrawny for his position at wide receiver. But here it is, this kid is threatening to "sit out" the entire year with the 49ers and re-enter the draft in 2010 IF they don't guarantee him 23 mil in his contract.....let's take a moment to ponder that......Okay. I'm floored. The amount of arrogance coming from these college players entering into pro sports nowadays is STAGGERING. What happened to the work ethic with pro athletes? What happened to the love of the game?? It's all about mo' money, mo' money, mo' money now. I mean, it's SO bad, that rookies think they can demand pay WHEN THEY HAVEN'T EVEN PROVEN THEMSELVES AND PAID THEIR DUES!! Crabtree, dude, get OUTTA here with that garbage!! I have no interest in watching this kid play. Not for the 49ers or any other team dumb enough to pick him up. With an attitude like that, he's just another strip-club-shooting, I-dunno-how-to-handle-my-success, convict player waiting to happen!! And to think...I used to think he was cute...

I think pro basketball is the only area in sports where female athletes get a bad rap. As such, the WNBA is a joke compared to the NBA. Does anyone watch their games? They have players coming off of the bench making 45k a year! And now THIS?! I was watching Colin Cowherd's show "The Herd" on ESPN the other day and he had a debate going about the WNBA players. He said that these female athletes, PRO athlete's would get "creamed" by an elite high school BOYS basketball team if they ever played each other! Not that they would just lose, but get CREAMED even. Okay, I have a problem with this. I mean, how does a pro athlete even get compared to a high school one? If I were a pro athlete and was compared to a high school athlete I would be ANGRY, LOL! But it gets worse, Colin's premise was based on the fact that the players on the WNBA are, of course, WOMEN. He said that women cannot be as athletic as men, EVEN BOYS! Now to be fair, he qualified it and mentioned things like height and upper body strength as the biggest discrepancy between the two sexes in terms of playing good B-Ball. But I just can't believe that basketball skills mainly rest on those two criteria. There is also quickness, skills, and stamina. Chick basketball players have ALL of that, buddy. Well, the debate will go on and on until a game occurs to prove either opinion, and that is one game I'd REALLY like to watch!

I...wonder about this. I mean it is competitive and athletic, and that is the basic definition of a "sport" activity, isn't it? Well it has always been a super popular and viable option for women who are into athletic activity, movement, and dance, but who may not want to do contact or strenuous physical activity. What's interesting is that cheerleading is always aligned with other traditional male sports like football and basketball. And it can actually be a professional career! Well I found this site that promotes what I call the CHEERLEADER NATION! Yes, they are serious about it. I think that it's a good argument for giving it credence in say...even the Olympics, and giving salaries in at least the 6 figure mark! It has my vote, to me cheerleading is a sport. NOT! How do you fight your own teammate at training camp? And how does the coach look on and chuckle about it like a proud papa, shrugging it off as "a little rock'em sock'em robots?" That's exactly the kind of shenanigans going on at the New York Jets training camp. Good lord, just ridiculous. Granted I know fights happen at most of the training camps, but I don't think it's good for business! I mean, that's not teamwork! I guess it just seems odd to me because the head coach Rex Ryan thought it was funny. Dude, this is football, NOT mixed martial arts. There were THREE fights in total at the Jets camp yesterday. I don't think your boys are getting along. How do you regroup and start thinking cohesively again when the team wants to knock each other's blocks off? Come on guys! Play nice....;)

Fulfill His Fantasy!

Fantasy Football, that is, LOL. Yeah it's that time of year again. Time for FANTASY FOOTBALL WOOT! I seriously can't understand why some women abhor their men participating in Fantasy Football. Give me a break! So what if he's preoccupied with it, at least he's not cheating, drinking, or drugging! I can't say that I understand how it works totally, but it actually seems like fun. Maybe instead of adding this one to their nag list, women should JOIN their men or join their own fantasy football league. That's a thought, isn't it? Really, can't we just compromise a little on the sports thing? Anyway, I think I'm gonna do it this year. Like I said, it seems like nerve wracking and spellbinding FUN and there's money to be won, and I like that as well. From my rudimentary knowledge, here's how it works: You construct your own pretend football team. You can choose your players from any NFL team you like, and they don't have to all be from the same team. For instance, you can have Reggie Bush from the New Orleans Saints be your running back, and T.O. from the Buffalo Bills be your wide receiver. Got that part? After your team is made, you win points based on each player's performance in their respective games. You compete against other fantasy football folks in the "league" that you sign up with. The person with the most points at the end of the week, wins the pot money! The "pot" money is the money that everyone contributes at the start of each week. I believe everyone has to contribute the same amount. So, you pick 11 players, and you can trade or transfer them out during the season if something happens like an injury. There are SO many different leagues out there with many different rules. Most leagues have their own website and you can track your "team's" progress in the comfort of your own home. Other leagues have a central location where the participants meet up each week to discuss and track their teams progress. I dunno, if my man were doing this every week, I'd either be by his side or calling him around the clock trying to see how his team is doing. NOT complaining on a website called "Women Against Fantasy Sports." Come on ladies, lighten up!! Sometimes men just can't get a break. I can't wait to do a little football fantasizing myself! :)

They tigers are the hardest wild animals to tame. I've always said, if you can't tame a tiger set him free. Well, all of these seem to relate to the one and only Tiger Woods. Whenever we think that he may be down out for the count he ROOOOAAARS! And that roar has resonated into 69 PGA tour titles! Yes, he's gone and done it again and won the Buick Open with just three shots. I seriously don't know when or how this guy will EVER be replaced in the history of golf. Granted, he works hard to be the best at what he does, but I think a lot of it is just raw talent. Don't get me wrong, golf is STILL boring as H-E-double hockey sticks, but I am ALWAYS interested in what's going on with my boy Tiger. Hey he also has a niece trying to make her mark in the golf arena. Her name is Cheyenne Woods. I wrote a short post on her a while back, check it out!

Mixed Martial Arts babe Gina Carano (top) is SO puuuurrrty, but I wonder what she'll look like after her fight with Cristiane Cyborg (bottom). That pretty little face of Gina's may not make it out of the ring unscathed. I mean, I'm not worried about her ability to win the fight. I'm not concerned that Cyborg has started her career looking like a transsexual and has morphed into basically...a man, either. Gina can win. She'll have to knock Cyborg out on her man-cheeks early on in order to do it, but she can do it. Gina has 7 wins out of 7 fights: 3 by knockout, 1 by submission. Cyborg has 7 wins and one loss, with 5 of her wins by knockout. And by the way, "Cyborg's" last name is actually "Santos" and she's married...to a MAN!! Let me give you a second to ponder that....Okay, sounds like a very even match on paper. However, Cyborg looks AND fights like a man. I mean "cyborg" is her nickname because she supposedly fights like a machine! Gina doesn't like to fight when she's on her period, Cyborg probably doesn't have a period. So, when you think about it, is this a fair fight? When you see these two ladies, who are very cordial to one another I might add, it doesn't look like we are talking about a woman versus woman bout....But, with that said, I think Gina could whoop a man if she needed to, so bring it on Cyborg, you BEAST! Way To Go, T.O.!

Of course, I've been watching Terrell Owens' new reality show on Vh1. How could any heterosexual woman resist?? LOL, anyway, T.O. has had sort of a rough time finding a franchise home to really fit in to. I am still pretty disappointed that Dallas decided to cut him, and I STILL think it was a mistake....At any rate, he's off to Buffalo, and I didn't think it was a good match. Until I watched his show! They showed him arriving at the airport to Buffalo and his filght didn't come in until 12 am. It was a delayed flight, so T.O. initially thought the few fans who met him outside the gate was a good thing. But he continued walking throught the airport and finally walked in to a HUGE crowd of people who had waited up to meet him! It was an exciting sight to see. Looks like the people in Buffalo are really ready to welcome my man T.O. with welcome arms! The mayor even gave him a key to the city! All of that Buffalo love should inspire T.O. to perform at his tippy tippy top for them. They showed him working out on the show, and I have to say his form is right on point. He also promised Buffalo 10 touchdowns and a playoff spot. So, looks like I have found an NFL team to root for after all. Go Buffalo Bills and T.O.!! :)

LOL! Kate Hudson likes rods A LOT. Her latest "rod" is hottie A-Rod, Alex Rodriguez, and this has me truly shaking my head. Is Kate Hudson the best that A-Rod can do? This guy seems to have the absolute worse taste in women. First he cheats on his wife with a call girl slash madam slash stripper, then he destroys his marriage over the anti-"virginal" Madonna, and now Kate Hudson?! Kate has done nothing but keep a constant penile tour of the country since she got a divorce from her husband a few years ago. What's A-Rods deal? I mean, what do you have to be to attract this guy, a two dollar ho? LOL, I'm not even sure if his divorce is final! He's had enough controversy with the steroid use thing that surfaced early this year. Anyway, I think he should just focus on his baseball caeer and slow down a bit with the ladies. Phelps is an 8 gold medal, record breaking Olympic swimmer, and his voice deserves to be heard on this "wet suit" swimming gear controversy. Hears the deal, Phelps lost a 200 meter freestyle race yesterday. The winner, Germany's Paul Biedermann, admits that the wet suit gave him an advantage. If so, it's no surprise that Phelps coachBob Bowman is NOT pleased. Get this, he's saying that Phelps won't race until the bodysuits are banned! I don't blame him. Word is, the suits will be banned next year. If that's the case, any races won by swimmers wearing them should be banned next year as well. It's only fair. This was Phelps first individual loss in four years and Biedermann beat his record time that was set in Beijing! This is a big deal. Personally, I think a swimmer wearing a bodysuit designed to give him an edge over competiton, when OTHER swimmers can't wear the same thing, is CHEATING. Plain and simple. It's not a fair race. I think swimmers should wear what they all wore in the Olympics: speedos. The least amount of fabric as possible. Same goes for the ladies. Technically, they wear bodysuits, albeit nothing to compare to the type of bodysuit Biedermann donned. But, even the women could stand to lose a little fabric, especially if it helps the sport gain more equality. Anyway, I have never been a pro swimming fan, but I have to admit that Phelps has put swimming, as an interesting sport in the news, on the map. He's almost as wild and crazy and controversial as an NFL or NBA player and holding it down for the bad boys all by himself! All he needs now is a baby momma. Teeheehee!

Whew! That was a close one. I thought we were gonna have to deal with Brett Favre's attention-whoring for ANOTHER football season! But, praise be to the football gods, Favre has decided to stay retired. Don't get me wrong, he did his thing in his football career. He inspired a lot of up and coming players and set many standards for quarterbacks in the league. But when a man has to know when he has contributed all that he can to the cause. He has to quit while he's ahead before he tarnishes his legend and makes himself look like a bafoon! Too many times, athletes have retired and come back only to make fools of themselves. Such names as, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Mike Tyson, and others. Now, I can't say that Favre made a fool out of himself when he retired and then decided to come back to play last year. He didn't do horribly, but he didn't do much of anything worth supporting his legend either. Listen to these career stats: TD: 464 - 310, 65,127 yards passed, and a quarterback rating of 85.4! That's darn good! Hey, the man gave 17 seasons of his life to the NFL. Now it's time to focus on his family and nurse his body back to health. And it's not like he's exactly ready to join AARP, he's still a young man (only 39), there's plenty more he can do. So hats off to Mr. Favre, and Happy Retirement!

Gabrielle Union had a shot with this hottie and missed her chance. He is definitely single. Now I'm not trying to promote groupie love...but...I'm just saying, if you're still looking for a husband...HAHA! Michael Vick has received a second chance in the NFL! Boy, he on his ninth NFL life, isn't he? That was indeed a close one. The reinstatement is "conditional," but if he gets picked up by a team, and gets a starting position, he could be playing in the coming regular season. I have mixed emotions about this one. But, I can say that I'm happy for him. Not sure what the "conditions" are...I suspect it has something to do with... NOT ACTING LIKE A DAMN FOOL OFF THE FOOTBALL FIELD! You think you can handle that Mr. Vick?? He's allowed to start practicing asap, and can participate in the last two pre-season games. All right, okay, let's get to it!

Galaxy Going to Smell the Roses!

The Los Angeles Galaxy will be hosting Barcelona in a match at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, August 1st. It should be good! The Galaxy have been performing better and better, especially since Beckham's controversial return. Yes, his return has been kind of bananas. In fact, just last week, Becks got into a shouting match with fans after a match. This happens after he was booed in his debut return match. Bad form, Galaxy fans! Very badly done. I don't want us Americans to prove that we are as base and unrefined as those Brits claim we are. I'm actually rooting for Becks to get his act together. Not that the team desperately needs his help, and his shelf life is just about up. But I'd like to see the gent go out on top. Because he's sexy. Oh! The match is at 8 p.m. I'm gonna try to watch it!

Okay, I never understood how LeBron could be so egotistical that he would care if he LET a college player dunk on him...and it just so happened to be caught on film. Did he really think that his loyal fans would believe the hype anyway? I saw the video, and trust me my Baby Bron TOTALLY let that kid have that dunk. Because the kid was at HIS camp for skills. Why would he try to discourage that youngun by being the phenom that he is during a lesson? That would be like a dad trying to help his son practice doing layups while hogging the ball! This video thing was blown out of proportion and I think it was ALL Nike's idea to confiscate the videos from the reporters. Seriously, it was a low budget dunk. Lebron was barely trying to defend him, he was obviously more interested in WATCHING THE KID'S FORM so that he could provide feedback. Wait...I'm a chick and I get that?? All that video proved to me is what a phenomenal guy LeBron is, his character and the fact that he is NOT an egomaniacal superstar. He can share the glory, even when it is unwarranted, and that's why I love my Baby Bron! Please, King Kong has got NOTHING on LeBron James, and neither does that college player. His fifteen minutes of fame are already up and he can carry his little dunk with him on the road to obsurity. He will NEVER be Lebron James.

Kobe Has Spoken!!

Methinks Kobe Bryant be the boss of the Lakers. Yes, I do. I think they run decisions by him like he's signing checks over there, teeheehee. Anyway, Kobe gave an interview in Singapore in which he states that he is "optimistic" Lamar Odom will return to play for the Lakers. Odom has been in limbo for weeks, waiting to hear his magic numbers for a contract with the team. The Lakers made him an offer, then swiftly withdrew it. Odom, who I endearingly call "the candy man" because of his addiciton to sugar and sweets, wants a ten million dollar contract for over two years. Lakers had to think about that. They have been thinking HARD about that, lol. But Kobe's revelatory interview makes it clear what HE wants them to do. And...it shall be done. BOOM BAM BOW!

Hunh Wha...? New Football League???

There is a new football league coming on the scene and its set to make it's debut in the fall. It's called the UFL, or the United Football League and appears to be filling up with players and coaches as we speak. To be honest....it seems to be filling up with NFL rejects as we speak. Dethroned and derailed former quarterback for the Buffalo Bills J.P. Losman has just signed with the "Vegas" franchise of the UFL. *CHIRP* *CHIRP* Vegas?? Will their uniforms include sequence and feathers? Will there workouts include "jazz hands." LOL, sorry I just couldn't resist that. Word has it that disgraced quarterback Michael Vick is also possibly thinking of getting on board with the league. Former Arizona Cardinal coach Dennins Green came out of a three year retirement to sign on with the league as the coach of the San Franny team. Haha, am I really making the UFL seem like a league of misfits and pansies running around in opaque uniforms? I don't mean to do that. The season will supposedly run parallel to the NFL season....yeah...good luck with that. But hey, I'd go to a game if the tickets are going for five dollars. Why not?

Goodness! Another "TOP" list. Seems there are lists for EVERYTHING. Can't get around ranking things in this society, can we? LOL Well, in good fun and just because this is "essential" information, Sports Illustrated's Joe Ponanski has given his rating of the top 100 major league baseball players to date. I will only list the top 10 here, because after 10, we just don't really care, do we. With no further ado, the list:

1. Albert Pujols, first base
"Every hitter is human," says pitcher Zack Greinke (No. 4). "Except Pujols."

2. Joe Mauer, catcher
Could win his third batting title this year ... no other American League catcher ever has won even one in history.

3. Hanley Ramirez, shortstop
Advanced stats suggest he's better defensively than people think. Offensively, he leads the league in hitting and might have another 30-30 season.

4. Zack Greinke, starting pitcher
Throws four plus pitches, all for strikes, leads the league with a 2.08 ERA, and has won 10 games for a team that has scored the fewest runs in the AL.

5. Chase Utley, second base
Crushes the ball, plays outstanding defense and, just as a fun side note, has led the league in hit-by-pitch three years running.

6. Alex Rodriguez, third base
Disastrous first half splattered with injuries, rumors and a low batting average ... and the guy STILL has a 145 OPS+, good for seventh in the AL.

Not sure where he will be pitching ... but he will dominate. A handful of the people in the world can throw 93-mph fastballs that sink. A handful of people can pitch with pinpoint control. One man can do both.

I will be starting a quest to find the cutest and even sexiest t-shirts out there for women who like to wear sports team attire. I went shopping at the mall this weekend and passed an Oakland Raiders store and saw the CUTEST single strap Raiders top! I thought, what a great idea! To make feminine cute designs with sports in mind. Too bad the Raiders colors are horrendous for fashion (at least in my view). But there are many other teams out there that have great team colors and that would enhance certain fashion styles. For instance, I have seen Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa wear some interesting outfits over the years. I can't say that I have liked them all, but a few have been right on. She wore a Lakers-yellow, single strap floor length gown at game five of the championship playoffs. Made me give her a sidelong glance and say, "hmmmmm, not bad, actually." So, I will be keeping my eye out for some sporty cuteness out there!

Pittsburgh Steelers Roethlisberger accused of WHAT??

Steeler's quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's name has been included in a sexual assault civil suit! And get this, his name was mentioned among nine other defendents! What in the freaky deaky hell went on at THAT party in July 2008?? And who made the female complaintant mad enough to file a court case WELL after the fact? There was no criminal complaint filed, so the whole thing sounds suspect to me. Nevertheless, Ben was obviously up to something less than fresh to be mentioned. Since Steve McNair, the last thing we need to hear about is another NFL quarterback's indescretion with a woman. And after Vick, the last thing we need to hear about is another NFL quarterback having legal trouble. Is it me, or do they just not make NFL quarterbacks or players the way they used too? Can't say that I am a Roethlisberger fan, but I do root for the Steelers because of their coach Mike Tomlin. Hate to see him possibly dealing with stress over his star man having problems during training season. Tsk, tsk, the things those NFL boys get themselves into when they aren't too busy playing games and travleing every week....Perhaps Ben needs to get more busy! And not in the slang way...*wink*
